Dr. Earnest Light is a licensed psychologist in the province of Ontario. His formal training in psychology was in Russia, where he obtained a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from St. Petersburg State University and Doctor of Philosophy degree from the St. Petersburg Psychoneurological Institute. Dr. Light has extensive training in psychotherapy, which he started in Russia and continued in US and Canada. He completed workshops led by such famous psychotherapists as Virginia Satir and Carl Whitaker. Dr. Light worked as a Clinical Psychologist in several mental health facilities. He was a Clinical Director of a crisis unit for adolescents where he worked with victims of sexual abuse. His articles are published in Russian and North American scientific peer reviewed journals.His research and practical skills are recognized internationally. Dr. Light was a Visiting Scholar at the University of California, San Francisco. He was the recipient of a grant from the MacArthur Foundation. He was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the State University of New York in Geneseo.
Dr. Light is helping injured workers for almost 20 years. During this period Dr. Light has seen several hundred clients.
Dr. Light uses personal approach to each client based on client’s cultural background, age, gender, education, religious and ethical beliefs. Such approach helps clients to get better connection to the Psychologist and faster achieving psychological well-being.
There is no “good” injury. Injury is always a harm to the health and well-being. The main goal to psychologist try to minimize psychological consequences of injury and best case scenario to help the injured worker to see new perspectives in life and try to accomplish new intellectual projects.
